Lesson 1 of 6 · 4 min
Your body has an alarm system.
This lesson walks through what physically happens, step by step, when that alarm goes off.
Stress is not a mood or a mindset. It is a coordinated physiological response — a sequence of signals that moves through the brain, the bloodstream and the muscles in a fixed order, faster than conscious thought.
Before you can teach someone to regulate the response, you need to know what the response is doing.

What comes next
In your first live session, you'll work with the one part of this cascade you can reach directly: the breath.
Most of this chain runs without you. Breathing is the point where you can intervene, and slow what the body has already set in motion.
